Christmas Candles

Who doesn’t love candles? I know a lot of you bloggers love nothing more than putting a candle on and having a pampering session, and I’m one of those too. So this year I really wanted to get some Christmas scented candles to fill the room with festive scents to get me even more excited about this time of year. I bought a selection of candles whilst out doing some Christmas shopping and picked up these Yankee Candles. I bought 4 different Sampler scents which burn up to 15 hours which is pretty good. They were also buy one get one half price when I got them which was good but they usually cost £1.80 each. I bought these in Clinton's so not sure if they are still doing the deal or not!

Red Apple Wreath
This is a lovely scent of sweet apple and cinnamon and has a very Christmassy smell to it to get you in the festive spirit.

Christmas Cookie
This is a sweet smelling candle but it isn't as sickly as I thought it would be. It mainly smells of vanilla and sugar and smells delicious!

Christmas Eve
This candle is a mix of sugary fruits which is quite sweet and of course I am saving this one for Christmas Eve!

Cherries on Snow
I haven’t taken a picture of this one as I am currently burning it. This has a lovely fruit scent of cherries that is quite light but fills the room with a nice smell.

Have you bought any Christmas scented candles and where from? Do you have any favourite Yankee Candle scents?

L’Oreal Super Liner Gel Intenza Review and Swatch

I was looking for a gel eyeliner a little while ago and when I was out this one caught my eye. I am often very pleased with the quality of L’Oreal products so thought this would be a good choice to go for. The packaging of the product is very nice and looks high end. The liner comes in a little glass jar with a gold cap. It also comes with a liner brush which I wasn’t holding out much hope in being good, but was pleasantly surprised as it works very well and is at the standard of a professional brush.

Once I got home and opened this up I realised I had picked up the wrong one, (stupid me for not looking properly) but I just assumed they were all just plain black, but the one I got is Gold Black which has tiny speckles of gold through it. This worried me at first and I considered taking it back but I tried it and the glitter hardly shows and the colour is still a dark black.

The liner applies very well and it’s nice and smooth which glides across the eye easily. The brush also makes it easy to shape the liner to how you want it and create flicks on the edge of the eye. The creamy texture is great and it doesn’t smudge throughout the day nor crumble and break down. It also lasts very well so no need to reapply it though out the day.

Overall I am really impressed with this and would recommend it to anyone looking for a gel liner. Also Boots are doing a promotion at the moment and when you spend £15 you get a free gift. The free gift is really great and includes a full size Volume Million Lashes Mascara, full size Colour Riche Lipstick, full size Colour Riche Nail Polish, a small tub of Revitalift and a selection of sample size BB creams and foundation. I would have shown a picture of it all but I am having it as a Christmas present!

FashionVouchers Xmas Party Outfit Comp

FashionVouchers.com recently contacted me about their newest blogger competition, and I thought I’d give it a go as their competitions are always really good. So the challenge is to create the perfect Christmas party outfit for under £100. The great thing about this is you can pick from any of the brands from their website which include ASOS, Dorothy Perkins and Miss Guided. For my entry I chose Fashion Union, as they always have great affordable items.

Dress / Belt / Heels / Bag / Nail Wraps

Black Bandeau Sequin Peplum Dress - £5 Yep don’t worry you eye sight isn’t going; this dress really is just £5! How amazing is that?! As soon as I saw this on the site I knew I had to use it as part of the outfit. If this isn’t the best part outfit bargain then I don’t know what is! Everyone needs a black dress over the Christmas period and I love the sparkly top and peplum skirt on this.

Gold Belt - £4 I then added this belt to add a bit of colour to the outfit

Peep Toe Platform Heels - £30 I love these heels and they are perfect to wear with any outfit

Black Faux Fur Stud Bag - £20 This bag is great and gives a bit of edge to the outfit, perfect to keep all those essentials for a night out!

Black Nail Rock Wraps - £6.65 To finish the look I’ve added these 3D nail wraps that compliment the dress perfectly.

So the total of this outfit comes to £65.65, which is great as you’ll still have money to spare for your night out or a treat for yourself! Also if you like Fashion Union you will get 10% off your order which would make this around £59.00.

This is a really good competition and I hope you like the outfit I created. If you want to take part in this as well then just head over to the FashionVouchers page for more details.

Back to Blogging

I’ve been away from blogging for a little while now, I think it’s been about a month! I was having a bit of bloggers block and had a lot going on in my personal life so it just didn’t feel right to force myself to blog. But after having some time away I feel I’m ready to get back into it again.

So who else is looking forward to Christmas? Because I sure am! I’m actually getting so excited this year and have done quite a bit of my shopping, but still got some to go! I’m not one of these people that are able to get it all done before December; I don’t think it would feel right if I wasn’t buying presents for people in December. We are also going to get our Christmas tree this weekend and decorate the house so I will definitely be in the Christmas spirit! I’m sure our cats will love that too... last year they would regularly climb inside the tree and think they could climb up it.

If you read my blog before you may have seen my post on winning a Vespa Scooter in a competition. Well I got it delivered the other week and I love it. Although I can’t keep it which is a shame, mainly because I have nowhere to put it and I know I won’t get much use out of it and they fact I’d have to take a test to ride it, insure it etc. So I have put it up for sale, so if you know anyone that might be interested then let me know!
